Christopher Robin is a 2018 American fantasy comedy-drama film directed by Marc Forster and written by Alex Ross Perry and Allison Schroeder, from a story by Perry. If you remember Disney franchise of the same name inspired by A. A. Milne and E. H. Shepard’s book Winnie-the-Pooh, then you are up for a good time. The film stars Ewan McGregor as the titular character alongside Hayley Atwell, as well as the voices of Jim Cummings and Brad Garrett. In this version, an adult Christopher Robin, who is now focused on his new life, work, and family, suddenly meets his old friend Winnie the Pooh, who returns to his unforgotten childhood past to help him return to the Hundred Acre Wood and help find Pooh’s lost friends.
The movie picks up from a young Christopher Robins who is leaving for boarding school, so his friends from the Hundred Acre Wood – Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga, Roo, Owl, and Rabbit – throw him a goodbye party. He promises Pooh before he leaves that he will never forget him.
An adult Christopher is now married to architect Evelyn and they have a daughter named Madeline, whom he plans on sending to boarding school. He neglects his family due to his demanding job and even forewent his plan of traveling with his family, because of it.
Pooh awakens and is unable to find his friends, so he decides to travel through Christopher’s door and finds himself in London, outside Christopher’s house. He then convinces Christopher to help him find his friends before attending his meeting. The events that follow reminds Christopher of the boy that still lay within him and he goes through a transformation.
