To the Governor of Bayelsa State

Guy was inaugurated on Wednesday, April 24 2018 as Special Adviser on Entertainment & Tourism to the Governor of Bayelsa State, responsible for leveraging on the conducive environment created by the restoration Government to turn Bayelsa state into an entertainment and tourism hub through activation, creation, promotion of the entertainment and Tourism Industry in Bayelsa State.
Guy studied Business Administration at California State University and graduated in 1985. He is a veteran in the media and entertainment industry and the National Director (Nigeria) for Miss World and Miss Universe Pageant.
He oversees the local and international operations of the Silverbird Group of Companies, which comprises Silverbird Communications Limited (STV and Rhythm FM); Silverbird Cinemas (Nigeria, Ghana and Liberia); Silverbird Film Distribution (W.A) Limited and Silverbird Properties Limited.
Since 1993, Guy has been nurturing and managing Silverbird’s front-window signature brand event the “Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria” beauty pageant which produced Africa’s first Miss World winner (Agbani Darego) in 2001 and also won the Group the timeless privilege of hosting the Miss World pageant in Nigeria in 2002.
He is also a member of the Bayelsa Business Council. The Bayelsa Business Council (BYBC) formulates policies aimed at attracting local and foreign investors to the state and as well as shoring up her revenue base. The council has as part of its responsibilities the laying of solid economic foundation and formulation of economic policies that would be private sector driven.
